Well, the party girl (me!) had her Personal Accents party and it was a shining success. We all had fun and I had plenty of time to mingle and keep the conversation sparkling with my gal pals as they tried on the jewels and checked out accessories. I had Ribbon Gift Collections on display, too -- and woohoo, I sold a few of those wonderful collections, too! Being gregarious and fun-loving, I have to say the party style of selling is the way to go for me. It was so delightful! My friends from Canada met my friends in the U.S., my marketing friends met my designer friends, my friends who are in sales met potential customers, writers connected with other writers, and on an on! I'd share photos but I am still waiting for my guests to send them to me. When they do, I'll post 'em if you'd like to see the setup of jewelry and how it was displayed so beautifully in my living room.
My guests of honor were Amy, the Brand Manager for Personal Accents, and Gina, the merchandiser. They're a dynamite duo who market and merchandise with an eye for style and a skill for negotiating great prices. In fact, many of my guests just couldn't get over how affordable the jewelry was -- perfectly priced for gift giving. Orders indicate plenty of gifts were purchased at the party. Here are a few customer faves from Personal Accents:
"Frill Seeker" Bracelet -- it's for the Delightful Drama Queen on page 9 of your catalog.
"Gimme the Chills" Necklace and Earrings -- sure to get a reaction. Pages 10-11.
"Triple Treasure" Bracelet -- discover its simple beauty on page 16.
"Rock Candy" Necklace -- sweet treat for you or someone special. Page 24 tells a colorful story.
"Drop the Ball" Earrings -- if you have to drop the ball, do it elegantly. Page 38.
"Off the Cuff" and "Luxe Links" Cufflinks -- for the guy who's your shining star. Guy stuff on pages 42 and 42 in the catalog caught all the women's eyes, but the cufflinks made the order form.
Anticipate Personal Accents Signature Fragrance -- it smells lovely and just a little spray will do!
Ribbon Gift Collections that were purchased at the party or from those who couldn't attend the party included Guy Gear and Pamper Gift Collections. Ghirardelli, too.
It's true. I have advantages some of you don't, like the ability to have all the jewelry and accessories on display by loan through the company and have guests of honor attend who know the jewelry inside and out. But, y'know, Amy and Gina took the orders and I circled around the room chatting, munching on snacks, complimenting guests on their jewelry choices ... and smiling and laughing. I loved seeing people I care about connecting through me--through my new business. I felt good. I felt proud. I felt grateful.
I couldn't wait to share the news with you. Here's what I think is essential for Personal Accents party success:
Sending out the Personal Accents postcard invitations -- the photos on the front entice guests to attend.
Jewelry on display at the party ... The Starter Kit plus a few bound-to-be-popular-with-those-you-invited selections.
Anticipate Fragrance and/or Artistry Essentials Makeup Kit on display -- I had both and both were gifts ... but I had planned to purchase them for display at the party.
At least 10, preferably 15 guests -- I had about 22 in all. Invited about 40. Three expressed interest in ordering based on the postcard but couldn't make the party ... also many inquired based on jewelry they have seen me wear that's Personal Accents.
Personal Accents Order Forms. Very helpful! You can purchase Personal Accents postcards, order forms, business cards, and more at Quixtar Brand Support, a Quixtar Partner Store.
Now it's your turn. Tell me about your Skin Care Seminars, your Health & Beauty events, your Grand Openings, your Ribbon Gift Gatherings, your Personal Accents Parties, your Makeover Beauty Sessions. I want to hear about how you sell in group settings. What works, what doesn't work, what you need from us to make it work better!
My party was worth the planning and the expense. It had a little bit of everything in the way of jewelry and accessories and snacks, but it had the most important ingredient ... PEOPLE.
I didn't make humungous(sp) retail profits, but I DEFINITELY made a profit, even after subtracting the cost of snacks.
So what did I learn besides I like to have parties and love my friends and my business? Jewelry sells well when you can see it, touch it, and try it on. Jewelry is ideal for selling in a group setting. Selling in a group setting invites connection -- and human connection is what it's all about.
Guests--did I forget anything?
