Ribbon gives you reason to Celebrate!

Listen up! I've got a tidbit of info on what's to come with Ribbon. Bet you thought we launched all the collections for this year. Not true.

You're one of the first to know ! There's something NEW and it's coming soon to the Ribbon Gift & Incentive Program. The Celebrate Gift Collection. It's a holiday treat every holiday of the year. It's the perfect gift for a special occasion fall, winter, spring, and summer. It's the solution to any gift dilemma at less than $50! A gift card that comes wrapped in a pocket-sized carrier with the scoop on the sensational gifts online that await the recipient.

Wait until you see it! And you will! September 15, the Celebrate Gift Collection makes its debut. (I can't seem to figure out how I do an accent mark so please pretend it is over the e on debut.)

So, what's in it for your customers?

It's under $50. In fact, the suggested retail price is $40!

The name of it is festive. It creates positive, pleasurable feelings. It says gift and conveys special.

The Celebrate Gift Card, Carrier, and Booklet are bilingual. Everything is in English and Spanish!

The Gift Collection is all online; the booklet in the carrier is a teaser of what's available online and how to find it easily and quickly.

It NEVER expires. (That's right. I said never.)

Gift selections change periodically through the seasons but there will always be approx. 35 possibilities -- during Christmas, Valentine's Day, Graduations, every day. No matter who and when you give the gift card or when the recipient redeems it, there's something for her, for him, for the family, or for the home to select as their gift.

The Celebrate Gift Card and Carrier comes with an Envelope at no additional cost.

I've probably said way more than I should at this point, but I see opportunity to sell Ribbon to family, friends, and small businesses for the holidays. And that means profit in your pocket!

For businesses, you can start building relationships now so that you can secure Ribbon orders for holiday gift giving.

For family and friends, begin talking up Ribbon for the holidays in late September, once Celebrate is available.

Are you ready to "Sell-ebrate"?

Hey Susan is the launch going to be both in US and Canada?
# Susan Julien-Willson said on June 25, 2008 4:30 PM:

Yes, Jain. Thanks for asking. There will be a similar collection in Canada at the same time. It will be in English and French. The name of it is; For You.

Wow Susan! That sounds like an awesome opportunity for us to get out and promote Ribbon! I am becoming more and more impressed with Amway Global's commitment to giving IBO's products we can sell. A $40 retail price is right in line with many holiday gifts. Can't wait to see it!

Although I'm excited, I dont get it-LOL! I thought all the gift cards never expired? And the booklet is in the card carrier? I don't understand what's special about this card, but I guess you can't tell us and we'll find out in Sept-can't wait!

I am so excited about this new Ribbon. I love them..They are the perfect gift for graduations, birthdays, weddings, anytime. They are so much better than just sending cash. Everyone loves the "card" idea nowdays. Can't wait to see it. We have had people in our business make thousands with Ribbon accounts, and their clients love them.

I love the Pamper Ribbon- I even find items I want for myself and order them for me. Have you seen the one with chicken and steaks? Hey anything to make money on the money we're spending anyway......

The new gift card sounds exciting Susan!  I just posted a new comment idea for ribbon on your Innovate blog.  Check it out!  I look forward to selling the new gift card!  I agree with visioneer that we truly have some great products that are easy to sell!  That's one of the main reasons I chose to be a Quixtar IBO!

CJ, the gift cards do have an expiration date. Typically its a year from the time they are initially released. From my personal experience though, the corp has never given me a hard time to exchange them if they did expire. They've always been totally awesome in sending me replacement albums!

Susan,

I just got the new issue of the Ribbon Retailer and I am excited about changes coming up! I think the direction of the concept, going to a virtual catalog, is a good idea in many aspects with only a few downsides.

A "greener" experience, better selections, a lower chance of an item being out of stock... sounds like its getting better and better!

Susan or anyone:

Is there a way for IBOs to access the Ribbon Retailer and it's archives online on the Quixtar site? I have the retailer sent to my home email address and I can't access it remotely. It would be great if it was in the education dowloads section or the Retailing Support Section.

# Susan Julien-Willson said on July 9, 2008 10:16 AM:

CJ,

I spoke with the Ribbon Brand Manager about your idea and she is putting a request in to have the archive added to the IBO view in Shop Brands, Shop Categories and in the Resource Center. Give it some time, but it will happen. Thanks for your input!

Susan,

I just saw the tri-fold for the Ribbon Program-Incredible is the only word I can use. These are great! Hats off to you and the Ribbon Group at headquarters! Also, thanks on the Ribbon Retailer answer!

# Susan Julien-Willson said on July 11, 2008 8:17 AM:

Hi CJ!

Do you mean the Ribbon Presentation Flier under Retailing Support > Ribbon in the Resource Center at Quixtar.com? Glad you like it. I will definitely let the Ribbon team know! Thanks, sjw

# CJ said on July 11, 2008 12:19 PM:

Yes, that's it. I think it is absolutely a wonderful presentation piece and it works just like the Ribbon ensemble-once you open in it up, it's a very nice surprise on the inside. Great idea.

Also, I was reading through some of the Previous Ribbon Retailers and I think they are wonderful (wish they came out every month-LOL!). I'd like to make a suggestion: if possible, could a case study section be added? I know alot of times it will discuss possibly a certain industry or focus on a particular couple/person, but what if one section actually studied an actual IBO success retail story whether it was B2B or B2C? The name would not have to necessary be revealed or maybe just first name, but it could state what the IBO did to get the sale/process, the business's/person's issue that needed solving, the solutions that the IBO provided, and finally how many they sold of which ones and what the end profit and PV came from the transaction. I think seeing the process in action and cold hard numbers really will give the retailers out there a real-life scenario and how they applied the training they got from Quixtar University and how they used the literature that is provided.

Have a great weekend Susan!

One last thing I noticed about the tri-fold: it mentions that the reader can go to the ordermygift.com to see more and that they can watch the Ribbon videos. I was just there and the two videos are not on the ordermygift.com website.

Susan and all,

Keeping along this same topic of ribbon gift cards, lately alot of companies such as radio stations, promotions, etc are switching over to using gas gift cards as an incentive due to the rising prices over the recent months. Anyone out there have any ideas on how we as ribbon retailers can effectively compete and answer the question to a potential purchaser as to how our cards can be just as powerful as gas cards? I guess this can also go out to the Quixtar Ribbon Marketing Team as well. I know this discussion thread may be half dead so maybe it's more appropriate for another blog discussion. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I am going to ask the Ribbon Team to comment on  your inquiry. Thanks, CJ! I will probably post about this early next week. Thanks, sjw

Sounds like a plan. Thanks Susan.

CJ,

Here are some comments that came in from corporate staff members involved in the development and training of Ribbon. They specifically address the gas card idea and giving practical gifts vs. "everyday luxury" or "edible" gifts.

If you give a gas card it's the same as giving any other kind of Gift Card.  The person receiving the gift will know what you spent.

It's also like other gift cards (or giving cash for that matter) because it says - I didn't take the time to figure out what would really please you - so here's some money.  Choose it yourself.

When I'm pinching pennies in every other way, I want a gift that I would feel too guilty to buy myself.  If you give me money, I would use it to pay the bills.  What kind of gift is that?  (In some cases of dire need, it may be the best gift.  But otherwise NO!)  Ribbon is the best thing to get so you can feel pampered without feeling guilty when times are tough.  It takes you out of your woes - if just for a little while. Especially the Pamper Gift Collection for women!

Hey Susan,

I just read in the online edition of Incentive Magazine that an IBO was featured with the Ribbon Program. Nice article! http://www.managesmarter.com/msg/content_display/publications/e3i7f30abddb493befbf684130fa61f5689

About Susan Julien-Willson

I enjoy attending writing/marketing/advertising seminars and conferences for the inspiration and motivation they provide and I also love participating in a monthly writing group and a book club. On weekends, I am frequently found in the poetry/fiction/business/music sections of Schuler Books, my fave local bookstore, or reading magazines and sipping coffee in their café. You can also look for me on weekends at my family cottage in the summer or movie theaters or the mall in the winter. Evenings and weekends, you might spot me out walking when the weather is warm and sunny, or at the Alticor fitness center a few times a week. I love clothes and jewelry as an expression of my personal style. Because I tend to spend most of my time working, working out, or writing poetry, I don?t do the extent of volunteer work I?d like to, but I have a long list of favorite charities I support, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Easter Seals, American Cancer Society, Hospice of Michigan, Gilda's Club, and Habitat for Humanity.
