July 24 marks the one-year anniversary of the Sales Speak blog on OZ. Thank you for everyone at Corp. who made it happen for me, but most importantly, thank YOU for reading and commenting on Sales Speak. You're the reason this blog has been a success. You're the reason I write this blog. You're the reason I work here.

You're the best!

Gratefully,

Susan

Susan, congrats on a full year of offical blogging. Bigger thanks for the support you've provided to so many of us, whether we posted back or just read. You have been so helpful in assisting us with thinking through ideas, being motivated by what you are doing as well as reading about what others are doing.

And thanks for the quality of your blog, and especially the fact that you post our replies and even include frequent one line replies of your own... that's what makes your blog feel so interactive.

With appreciation,

Thanks Susan!  I love this blog... sometimes I go weeks without checking in, but when I do I get re-energized with all of your tips, techniques, what's new, what's old and more!  I love your writing style and your enthusiasm!  Thanks for keeping this blog going & for keeping us in the "know".

Maureen and rkdnyvr,

Your responses substantiate exactly why I do write this blog. I may share loads of tips and techniques, but you keep me in the know of what it's like to be an IBO selling and sponsoring. And I just love to share exciting news of what's to come. In fact, I have a hot-off-the-press Choices Catalog in my hands today. WOW! I hope you are as amazed and impressed when you flip through it as I was today, seeing it for the first time. It's a BIG book that feels accessible and IS accessible. More info to come! Thanks Maureen and rdknyver. Please keep reading and commenting. Like I said, Sales Speak is a success because of people like you. sjw

Susan,

I also want to add how much I appreciate your blog and the time and effort you put into it. It's obvious that you really care about this company and the IBO's that are involved in it. I know that this is "above and beyond" your normal job so it takes some extra effort on your part.

Another comment about the Choices catalog is that I've been involved with this business for over a decade and every year the graphics and product descriptions get better. I do hope however that we are keeping the comparisons for the SA8 to Tide, LOC to Mr. Clean, and other similar products so customers can see the value of our home care products.

Thanks again for all your support Susan, we appreciate you!!

Blogging is such an odd thing to so many. Yet to some, it's just like carrying on a conversation. As someone in the IT industry, I know that well. Informal? Not really. Just a more concrete way of saying something and having folks that you may not know carry a conversation forward.

Congrats on a full year of blogging. I look forward to commenting on more blogs of yours as well as blogging on the other sites like www.iboaiblog.com and others created by IBOs.

Wow! Has it been a year since you "walked" in to my life? Time flies when you're having fun! :) Thank you Susan for all you do and for all you are.

I am new to this blogging stuff so I appreciate all you do. I know it takes alot of your time and mental energy.

I am also VERY excited about our new Choices catalog. To have all our "High PV and BV" products in one catalog is Vital. Being one who is out building the business, for 20 years now, it is so important to be able to show the #1 Supplement products, a skin care line that is one of the top 5 prestige brands in the world and the top of the line home care products. Thanks again for your efforts.

Gosh, you guys make me feel great! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep on reading and posting. And yes, I am SO EXCITED to hear what you think about the BIG new Choices Catalog, coming to your mailbox in August. Watch for it!

CJ,

Now that Amway Global is sponsoring the Tina Turner Tour, I think Sales Speak will be "rolling" ... we all will be! :-)Exciting times for the business, IBOs, and customers. As Beth suggests in her blog, Seize the Excitement!

Late to the party, but still happy to comment. Susan it is a pleasure to feel the enthusiasm that you have for our business come thru your writing.  And as others have posted I think the key to why Sales Speak is so great is the interactivity. I look forward to your thoughtful replies to many of the comments made.

Congratulations to your first year!

Thanks, Jeff. It's good to hear from you. I was worried you had stopped reading the OZ blogs! Please keep reading and commenting. You're right. I love the business and care deeply about the success of IBOs and the satisfaction of their customers. sjw

Dear Susan,

Congrats! Again, sorry that I've been MIA but with 2 kids under 2 and a new job, while building the biz, it's hard to find time sometimes to post. I have always appreciated your responsiveness and also willingness to keep us IBOs in the loop as to what's going on at the Corp. I've been busy booking some event sales and it's been tough trying to find the right venues and sales opps. One thing I hope you can help out with is the reply email that customers get after signing on as a client through a Quixtar personal website. Did you know that when a client signs on through Quixtar, they get this wonderful, colorful reply explaining more about our core brands and encouraging them to come back to shop. However, when a client signs on through a personal site, they get a truncated message that basically says thanks for signing on, no colorful pictures, and also no reference or hyperlink in the email back to the IBO's site who referred them. Is there a possibility that you can encourage IT or whoever it is in Communications to test this out and to at the very least include a hyperlink in that followup email back to the IBO's personal website. It should also mention something to the effect of.."Your servicing IBO is: .....e.rod....." I think there's been a lot of talk about this and Q/A is slowly getting there, but it would make followup after all the effort I've been putting into setting up and implementing my sales events much, much easier. Don't want to do all the work and have my efforts go to someone else. Anyway, back to the point of this post...thanks for always lending an ear and extending a helping hand to us IBOs out in the field making it happen. You're a treasure and look forward to Sales Speak celebrating more milestones in the years to come.

e.rod,

I will look into this. We do have a graphic email for Personal Websites for customers so I am confused as to why it's not being sent. A glitch in the system! Please be patient. We're working on this diligently. How recent did one of your customers receive this text-only email welcome?

I also am pleased to hear you feel Sales Speak is of benefit to you as an IBO. That is great! It's what motivates and inspires me to move forward. I promise to keep working on the customer email issue, as does IT. They've been wonderful about fixing the glitches and making it right for our IBOs and customers. Thanks, sjw

As you can see, no pics, very short, not at all what a customer gets through the Amway/Quixtar main site. Hope you can help, thanks!

Also, I may have missed it, but will you be at any of the Spotlights - the one coming up in NYC next week perhaps?

Hello. Thanks for the update. I believe IT is looking into this snafu. A much more graphic and enticing email should be going out to newly registered customers via personal websites. I will be at Spotlight on Friday night in NYC and the one in Portland. Will you be in NYC? sjw

About Susan Julien-Willson

I enjoy attending writing/marketing/advertising seminars and conferences for the inspiration and motivation they provide and I also love participating in a monthly writing group and a book club. On weekends, I am frequently found in the poetry/fiction/business/music sections of Schuler Books, my fave local bookstore, or reading magazines and sipping coffee in their café. You can also look for me on weekends at my family cottage in the summer or movie theaters or the mall in the winter. Evenings and weekends, you might spot me out walking when the weather is warm and sunny, or at the Alticor fitness center a few times a week. I love clothes and jewelry as an expression of my personal style. Because I tend to spend most of my time working, working out, or writing poetry, I don?t do the extent of volunteer work I?d like to, but I have a long list of favorite charities I support, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Easter Seals, American Cancer Society, Hospice of Michigan, Gilda's Club, and Habitat for Humanity.
